For Dog Owners
How do I book a run for my dog?
- Browse available runners in your area from the home screen
- Tap on a runner to view their profile, reviews, and pricing
- Select a date and time that works for you
- Choose which dog(s) will be joining the run
- Add a payment method if you haven't already
- Confirm your booking!
How do I add my dog to my profile?
Go to your Profile tab and tap "Add Pet." You'll need to provide:
- Your dog's name and photo
- Breed and weight
- Age and energy level
- Any special notes (health conditions, behavioral quirks, etc.)
How do I cancel or reschedule a run?
Go to "My Runs" and find the upcoming run you want to change. You can:
- Cancel: Full refund if canceled 24+ hours before the run
- Reschedule: Chat with your runner to find a new time
Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.
How do payments work?
We use Stripe for secure payments. Your card is charged when you book a run. The runner receives payment after the run is completed.
We accept all major credit and debit cards.
What if something goes wrong during a run?
Your runner should contact you immediately if there's any issue. For emergencies:
- Runners have access to your emergency vet info
- You can reach us at safety@houndbound.dog
We take safety seriously and will help resolve any issues.
For Runners
How do I become a runner?
- Download the app and sign up as a runner
- Complete your profile with a photo and bio
- Set your availability and pricing
- Connect your bank account via Stripe
- Pass our background check
- Start accepting run requests!
How do I get paid?
After you complete a run and mark it as finished in the app, payment is processed automatically. Funds typically arrive in your bank account within 2-3 business days.
You can track your earnings in the Profile tab.
How do I set my availability?
In your Profile, tap "Availability" to set your weekly schedule. You can:
- Set recurring time slots for each day of the week
- Block off specific dates when you're unavailable
- Update your availability anytime
What if I need to cancel a run?
Life happens! If you need to cancel:
- Cancel as early as possible to give the owner time to find another runner
- Message the owner directly to explain
- Frequent cancellations may affect your visibility on the platform
How do taxes work?
As an independent contractor, you're responsible for your own taxes. We'll provide a 1099 form at the end of the year if you earn over $600.
We recommend setting aside 20-30% of your earnings for taxes and consulting a tax professional.

How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" and enter your email. We'll send you a link to reset your password.
How do I delete my account?
Please contact us at hello@houndbound.dog to request account deletion. We'll process your request within 48 hours.
The app isn't working. What should I do?
Try these steps:
- Close and reopen the app
- Check your internet connection
- Update to the latest version of the app
- Restart your phone
